Nothing to publish here this month
At the moment there is nothing to publish here. Anyone can check vacation package availability in Malaysia by writing to the office with a month in mind, and an answer follows within a working day. What you will not find on this page is an offer invented so the space looks busy. An empty column is an honest column.
When a supplier does release rates for the quieter half of the year, they are passed on exactly as they arrive, with the same conditions attached. Nothing is rounded up to look generous and nothing is rounded down to look dramatic. If a figure changes between the quote and the reservation, the office says which company changed it and why.
November through February on the east coast
Half of what this office sells sits on the east side of the peninsula, and from November into February the sea there is rough and the boats stop running. The coast road south of Kota Bharu empties out with them. This is said before anyone asks, because a January reservation for the eastern shore would be a reservation for nothing.
The west coast does not behave the same way. Rain arrives in short bursts on the Strait side and the roads and the west coast line keep running, so Penang, Langkawi and the hill country above Tapah stay open while the other shore is shut. A winter request is answered with the map redrawn rather than with an apology.
Rooms belong to the company that keeps them
Nothing on this page is stock the office holds. Every room, guide and vehicle belongs to a company in Malaysia that can let it go to somebody else while an email is being written. A quote is a statement of what was true at the hour it was sent, and it says so on its face.
That is also why no counter runs on this site and no line claims that two rooms remain. Such a line would be a guess dressed as a fact, and the office cannot see the inside of another company's system. When something is gone, the reply says it is gone and offers the nearest honest substitute.
If something real turns up, it appears here
Suppliers sometimes publish a separate rate for the quieter part of their year, or release a few dates on a river trip that normally runs for private groups. When that happens it goes on this page with the company's own conditions, the exact dates it covers, and the date it stops being true.
Until then a short page is the honest one. The catalog behind it barely moves: twelve places that stand alone and eleven pairings of two, running from $610 to $2,580 a person for land arrangements, with two people sharing a room. No. Nothing is being promoted this month, and that is written plainly rather than papered over with an invented offer. Send a month and the reply will tell you what is open and what is closed.
- Why are there no countdowns or stock counters here?
Because neither would be true. The office does not hold the rooms, so a number counting down would be a guess about another company's system. Availability is confirmed with the operator at the moment a reservation is requested, in writing.
